A teenager killed a masked intruder holding a gun to mum's head - only to learn it was his dad.
Malachi Heisler shot his father John Heisler after he broke into the house to speak to his estranged wife.

"I had about five to six seconds to make a decision," said the 18-year-old.
"By the time I did recognise him, the decision was made."
Police said Heisler, 46, forced his way into the home, smashing windows as he went, while decked out in full black tactical gear, including a ski mask and thigh holsters.

Investigators said they are continuing to probe the incident, however the teenager is not expected to face charges.
The attack came about five months after Malachi's mother, Jolene Andrews, obtained a temporary restraining order against him for another armed break-in attempt.

That order was later extended until May 2016, authorities said.
Pinellas County sheriff Bob Gualtieri said: "When you open the door and you see somebody dressed in all black, in fatigues, with a ski mask on and a gun in your mother's face - he did the right thing."
Heisler was not only prohibited from entering the home, but he was also banned from possessing weapons.

NEWS ALERT -Tragedy as Hotel Collapses In Delta state(See Details)

Delta state deputy Governor Kingsley Otuaro, who visited the scene of the incident attributed the cause of the collapse to structural defect.

He spoke by saying:

“The state government has ordered that the hotel be closed immediately to avert further loss of lives. We are going to send engineers straight away. It is very possible that there have been some structural defect ab initio during construction works because that place seems to be a waterlogged area and maybe the proper engineering works were not done.” he said

No fewer than seven people sustained injuries after a popular hotel, the Mekaval hotel situated in Effurun-Warri in Delta state collapsed at about 2am today September 9th. The injured were mostly indigenes of neighboring state who had come to the state in search of a miracle at the Christ Mercy Land Church, headed by one Pastor Jeremiah Fufeyin, popularly referred to as ‘Ijaw TB Joshua’

NEWS ALERT - Nigerians arrested in Thailand for producing cocaine (see photos)

Two Nigerian men identified as Joseph Uyamadu, 43, and Emanuel Umiano, 33 were on Monday September 7th arrested by Thailand security officials for allegedly producing cocaine at their rented house in a rubber plantation in Ban Khai district of Rayong province. Arrested along with them was their Peruvian accomplice.

A search carried out by the police revealed a large portion of cocaine thrown into a flush tank, a bag containing black and sticky substance similar to raw opium, black sheets of substance, corrosive acid, electric grinder, a microwave oven, kerosene, and two cars.

The narcotics police officers say test will be carried out on all the substances found in their apartment but it is believed that they are all the raw materials used by the drug syndicates to produce cocaine. They are currently being detained at Ban Khai police station and will be charged to court soon.

NEWS ALERT -TV reporter and photographer shot and killed on live TV in Virginia

Television journalist Alison Parker, 24, (left) and Photojournalist Adam Ward (right) with WDBJ7 TV, were shot dead by a gunman today Wednesday morning August 26th around 6.45am (local time) while reporting live on air at Bridgewater Plaza, Moneta, Virginia. The crew was carrying out an interview when gunshots were fired. Adam was first shot dead and Alison was killed as she tried to run. Alison graduated from college in 2012. The lady they were interviewing is in critical condition in the hospital.

The gunman is at large but the cameraman captured the killer on camera as he fell after being shot as his camera was still running. The motive for the shooting is not known. See the photo after the cut...

NEWS ALERT - ISIS Beheads Syrian Antiquities Scholar in Palmyra

BEIRUT, Lebanon — The extremists of the Islamic State have beheaded the 83-year-old retired director of antiquities in the Syrian city of Palmyra, one of the world’s most important archaeological sites.

Before his retirement about a decade ago, the director, Khalid al-Asaad, was the top overseer for Palmyra’s sprawling Roman-era ruins and the gatekeeper for researchers seeking to work there for more than five decades.

“Anyone who wanted to do anything in Palmyra had to work though Khalid al-Asaad,” said Amr Al-Azm, a Syrian professor of Middle Eastern history and anthropology at Shawnee State University in Ohio. “He was Mr. Palmyra.”

After being detained for weeks by the Islamic State jihadists whoseized the city this year, Mr. Asaad was killed on Tuesday, according to the Syrian government and conflict monitoring groups.Continue reading the main story

As it expanded across Iraq and Syria, the Islamic State destroyed many archaeological sites, looting them for profit and damaging some for propaganda.

Fighters from the Islamic State, also known as ISIS or ISIL, seized Palmyra from government forces in May, raising fears that they would destroy its rich antiquities or sell them to finance its operations.

Workers managed to smuggled out much of the contents of the city’s museum before the jihadists entered, but some larger pieces left behindhave been destroyed, as have a number of tombs in the area.

The jihadists are not believed to have significantly damaged the city’s ruins, and some think they are using them for protection, assuming that the United States-led military coalition that is bombing Islamic State positions in Iraq and Syria will not bomb a Unesco heritage site.

Mr. Asaad’s relatives said that he had remained a supporter of the government of President Bashar al-Assad to the end, and that he had been especially alarmed when protesters seeking Mr. Assad’s ouster took up arms against him.

Despite his long career with the Syrian government, Mr. Asaad never considered fleeing the city as the jihadists approached, or even after they detained him for a few days, relatives said.

“He was a man who was very connected to his city and to the antiquities,” said his nephew, an anti-government activist who goes by the name Khalid al-Homsi. “He was old. Where would he want to go at that age? He said that whatever was going to happen to the people would happen to him.”

If it is akara that you want to sell, it’s the akara that you will sell. You don’t have to start putting jam inside akara. SPORTS - Chelsea agree deal for Barcelona winger PEDRO

Chelsea have agreed a deal with Barcelona to sign winger Pedro for a fee of £21m.

The 28-year-old, who was a target for Manchester United, is flying to London to finalise terms on the transfer.

The Spain international is a product of the La Liga club's academy and has scored 99 goals in 326 appearances since his debut in 2008.

He will be Chelsea's second signing in less than a week after the arrival of Ghana defender Baba Rahman.

They are also keen to sign England defender John Stones from Everton, who have already turned down offers of £20m and £26m and, reportedly, a third worth £30m.

Pedro's arrival could result in Colombia winger Juan Cuadrado leaving Chelsea after a disappointing seven months at Stamford Bridge. The Colombia international was signed for £23.3m from Fiorentina in January.

The champions are without a win in their opening two Premier League games for the first time since 1998 after following up their 2-2 draw with Swansea with a comprehensive 3-0 defeat at last season's runners-up Manchester City.

The Blues travel to West Brom on Sunday before a home game against Crystal Palace on 30 August, two days prior to the transfer window closing on 1 September.

Pedro scored the winner as Barcelona beat Sevilla 5-4 in the Super Cup

Manchester United were interested in Pedro as they look to replace Argentina winger Angel Di Maria, who has joined French champions Paris St-Germain for £44.3m.

Pedro made 50 appearances for Barcelona last season and has won the Champions League three times, including scoring a goal in the 2011 final against United, as well as five La Liga titles

He also won the World Cup and European Championship with Spain in 2010 and 2012 respectively.

He has made three appearances this campaign and came off the bench to score the winner in the 5-4 Uefa Super Cup victory over fellow Spanish side Sevilla.
