ENTERTAINMENT GIST - American Singer Sam Smith To Sing In Upcoming James Bond Film “SPECTRE”

Sam Smith announced earlier that he will sing the theme song for the upcoming James Bond film ‘Spectre’.
The song titled ‘Writing’s on the wall’, was recorded in January, will be released on September 25.
The Grammy award winner said:
“This is one of the highlights of my career. I am honoured to finally announce that I will be singing the next Bond theme song. I am so excited to be a part of this iconic British legacy and join an incredible line up of some of my biggest musical inspirations. I hope you all enjoy the song as much as I enjoyed making it.”
Smith told Nick Grimshaw on BBC Radio 1:
“I’m so relieved to actually talk about this, this has been top secret mission of my own.”
“That’s not me. That’s definitely not me,” he said. “I’ve still got loads to do, I’ve got an Australia tour, but I kind of finish in December which is great, it gives me a chance to be in London, be in my home and go out with my friends.”
Just last week the singer told BBC Radio 2’s Jo Whiley that he was “definitely not” working on the project.
Smith previously denied that he will be involved with the 24th Bond film, which is out on October 26.
“That’s not me. That’s definitely not me,” he said.
“I’ve still got loads to do, I’ve got an Australia tour, but I kind of finish in December which is great, it gives me a chance to be in London, be in my home and go out with my friends.”
