SPORTS - Football Legend Ronaldinho to Become a Musician After Retiring Next Year

Brazilian dribbling magician Ronaldinho Gaucho has announced plans to retire from the game in a year’s time – and plans to enter the music world going forward.

The former FC Barcelona and AC Milan playmaker has been back playing in his homeland the past few years as his career winds down, and has now admitted that at 36, the time to hang up the boots might be just around the corner.

“I am an old man now, I am 36,” he told reporters at a press conference in New York Tuesday. “I am no longer 26 like I once was, and I am looking at what I can do to mark an end to my career. The plan is to play one more year.”
Ronaldinho then hinted that music might just be his future.
“I am immersed in new projects, related to music and football which are, as you know, my two passions,” he said. “I am looking at new things that I have always liked and we will see what we will do this year.”

NEWS - The change you desire to see begins with you- President Buhari tells Nigerians

President Buhari yesterday asked Nigerians to be the change they so desire to see as the much desired change begins with them. He said this at the launch of a new initiative, Change Begins With Me campaign, in Abuja.
"I am therefore appealing to all Nigerians to be part of this campaign. Our citizens must realise that the change they want to see begins with them, and that personal and social reforms are not theoretic exercise.
If you have not seen the change in you, you cannot see it in others or even the larger society. In other words, before you ask ‘where is the change they promised us’, you must first ask how far have I changed my ways, ‘what have I done to be part of the change for the greater good of society? Nigeria today is passing through a challenging moment where hardly anything works in a normal manner. Many have attributed this phenomenon to the total breakdown of our core values over the years. It is safe to say today that honesty, hard work, Godliness have given way to all kinds of manifestations of lawlessness and degeneration in our national life. This is why we have among our cardinal objectives ‘change’, which implies the need for a change of attitude and mindset in our everyday life.”he said

NEWS - INEC finally bows to APC's pressure, postpones edo election

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) yesterday postponed the Edo State governorship election scheduled for tomorrow. It based its action on security advice. The polls will now hold on September 28, 2016.
Earlier, in the week, the Nigeria Police and the Department of State Services (DSS) had in a joint statement urged INEC to reschedule the polls, saying there were plans by unscrupulous persons to foment trouble.
INEC, which had repeatedly restated its readiness to hold the election, had said it would hold consultations with the security agencies before arriving at a decision.
INEC, in a statement by its National Commissioner (Voters Education and Publicity), Soyebi Solomon, said: “At about 6:00p.m. today (yesterday), the Commission received official communication from the Police and the DSS drawing its attention to the need to postpone the Edo governorship elections. Such postponement is necessary in view of threats of terrorist activities in Edo State and other states of the federation during the election and over the Sallah period.
“‎The deployment of security personnel, country wide, to secure lives and property, would overstretch their capacity to, at the same time, provide adequate security for the election.
“‎Consequently, the Commission notes the request of the security agencies. And considering the security implications of proceeding with the election, the safety of eligible voters, electoral officials, including ad-hoc staff, and other stakeholders, INEC has decided to reschedule the Edo governorship elections to Wednesday, September 28, 2016.”
The PDP, meanwhile, has described the postponement as illegal, saying: “Democracy is under a serious threat from the APC and its Gestapo security agencies.”
The leadership of the party, led by Senator Ahmed Mohammed Makarfi, in a statement, yesterday, reiterated its earlier position that the date should not have been changed.
The statement, by the spokesman of the PDP national caretaker committee, Dayo Adeyeye, reads in parts: “The postponement of the election by the top hierarchy of the security agencies predicated on alleged security threat was a less than ingenious attempt to buy time for the APC, which was clearly heading for a major electoral catastrophe on Saturday.”
Ekiti State governor, Ayodele Fayose, also described the postponement as the beginning of the end for democracy in Nigeria.
“It is obvious that the APC feared that it couldn’t win the election and was ready to employ whatever crude means to subvert the wish of the people,” he said.
In a statement by his Special Assistant on Public Communications and New Media, Lere Olayinka, Fayose said: “It was just a game by the APC-led Federal Government to frustrate the people of Edo State from kick-starting the journey of changing the APC’s ‘one-chance change’ in Nigeria. But they should realise that the power of the people will always be greater than the power of those in power.
“How can you postpone an election, less than 48 hours to the scheduled date? What manner of security concern could prevent an election in just one state, when elections were held in northeast states that are confronted by Boko Haram insurgents?
“Obviously, this is a sign of what is to come in 2019, and Nigerians should not be amazed if in 2019, they tell us that elections cannot be conducted.”
The PDP opposed the postponement, saying the ruling All Progressives Congress was scared.
State chairman of the party, Dan Orbih, said. “Few days ago, Adams Oshiomhole’s APC sponsored some group of boys to demonstrate to the government house and the secretariats of the APC and the PDP, asking for postponement of the election because they were preparing for the Mathematics paper in the GCE examinations.
“They have seen that it will not work, hence they resorted to this other alternative plan that there were security concerns and that the election should be postponed. Having failed in their bid to convince the electorate, they are out to use available means to buy time.”
Oshiomhole on his part had said his party was “over prepared” for the election and appealed to INEC not to postpone the “final burial of the PDP.”
He said: “The APC is ready for the election, and that was why we held our mega rally on Tuesday. And after that rally, our people across the state became more committed, more dogged and ready for the election.
“However, security issues are security issues. And as regards elections, they are very critical. If on their own they are calling on INEC for postponement, I am sure they must have their reasons because they are experts. If you recall, we raised the alarm that the PDP had planned to import thugs from neighbouring states to help them unleash mayhem on our people because they are not prepared for the election.”
The All Progressives Grand Alliance candidate, Mr. Osaro Onaiwu, had said he was of the view that the polls should be shifted, to allow the students write their exams.
He said: “I am supporting the call for the postponement because at the stakeholders meeting today (Wednesday), I told them to postpone it. Education is one of the solutions to the nation’s problems. We can’t be talking of examinations and deny the students their rights. Now, even if they relocate the students to other areas or states, some of them are eligible voters.”

Story: The Secretary

Faith, the secretary was usually the last to leave the office every day. She has to clear up after her boss, Mr Audu and often leaves an hour after he did.

On Fridays, she stayed even longer because her boyfriend comes over to keep her company. She enjoyed this time with Iyke because they get to have some really naughty times together.
They F**.Cked on every surface in the office, including Mr Audu’s desk which was a favourite. Faith especially loved the extra kinkiness that comes with F**.Cking on her boss’ desk.
All through the next workday, she watched Mr Audu working on his desk and enjoyed
the thrill of knowing her ass has been and Pu.$$y has been rubbed all kinds of
ways on the surface.
One Friday, Iyke came over at about 6pm as always, but this time, he brought some
booze. They had their usual fun and things got even crazier as they F**.Cked
under the influence. Faith suggested that she get F**.Cked on her boss’ table and
Iyke obliged.
He laid her on the desk, clambered over her and F**.Cked her tight cunt until she came.
It was certainly a fun experience.
Iyke and Faith attempted to clean up after their tryst, but under the haze of alcohol
and amazing S3@.x:’, Faith forgot her panties underneath Mr Audu’s table.
On Monday, Mr Audu arrived at the office earlier than Faith. He needed a few documents before he set out for an important meeting at 8am. He was trying to get all his papers together when he felt his foot catch on to something. He looked down to find a red thong.
‘Where the hell is this from?’ he muttered to himself. Since it was so early and the cleaning lady had not arrived, he was at the office alone, causing him to come to the conclusion that the pair of panties must have come from the Friday before. Mr Audu knew what to do.
The next morning he arrived at the office early, and with a couple of engineers to install secret cameras all over the office.
Every day that week,as soon as he got to the office, he looked through the recorded tape from the previous evening. Throughout the week, he did not find anything interesting.
He was starting to believe he would never solve the mystery of the red thong, until Monday morning.
As usual, Mr Audu came in at 7am. He was looking through the tape distractedly while checking a few emails when something caught his attention.
His secretary, Faith, stumbled into the office in the arms of a young man. The man bent Faith over and with her holding on to the table, this guy shoved his C@.ck deeply into her cunt from behind.
Mr Audu gasped as he watched Faith get F**.Cked over and over again like some S3@.x:’-crazed whore. He watched as she moaned and screamed in pleasure. He watched as her Pu.$$y kept dripping with Pu.$$y juice and the way she jiggled her ass and F**.Cked the man back.
As Mr Audu watched, he was very aware of his own d.!ck jerking against his trousers. He kept replaying the tape again and again. On the fourth play, he locked his office door, took off his trousers and began to stroke his C@.ck…
Four weeks later, Faith was on her desk one afternoon when the cleaning lady, Blessing, came to sit by her.
“You will not believe what Oga did,” she asked Faith.
“You too like to gossip, wetin Oga do now?” Faith responded, nudging Blessing playfully.
“I dey clean oga’s office, and as I climb up to comot cobweb, naim I see say Oga don put camera for there.”
Faith’s palm started getting sweaty as her brain worked in overdrive. How long had the camera’s been there? Had Mr Audu found out about her naughty trysts with Iyke?
“…why oga go they tape wetin they happen for im own office?” Blessing was still talking, oblivious to the fact that Faith was a thousand miles away.
She excused herself to go to the restroom. She wondered how she would handle this. She was unsure whether to bring it up with him or just ignore. For days, she kept worrying about whether or not Mr Audu would speak with her on the issue.
The next Monday morning, Mr Audu called Faith into the office. As she entered, he scanned her face curiously. He was prepared to jerk off as usual to his whore secretary getting F**.Cked in his office but there was nothing on the tape.
Faith stood uncomfortably, wondering why Mr Audu was looking at her that way when he said, “So your boyfriend did not come on Friday?”
Faith’s heart dropped. Here it was. The part where she gets fired. She put her head down and mumbled, “I am so sorry, sir.”
“No need to be sorry.” He stood up and walked to the opposite end of his table where Faith was standing. “I have watched you for weeks now, parading your N@kkd ass for me and rubbing your wet cunt all over my table.” As he came towards her, he reached out his hand and slowly slipped it underneath her skirt.
He brought up the hand and let it rest on her Pu.$$y, through her panties. Faith attempted to push his hand away.
“Why are you playing coy. You have spent the last few weeks showing this to me and
now you do not want me to touch? Are you a tease, Faith?”
He asked, while sliding his finger between the line of her Pu.$$y.
“I am sorry sir, P..please, I did not know…” Faith started to explain. Hoping Mr Audu would stop touching her.
“Okay, on one condition, I want to see your Pu.$$y again. I was hoping to this morning, but you deprived me.” Mr Audu said, taking his hand off her.
Faith had no other choice. Hoping this was enough, she removed her skirt and panties and stood waiting.
Mr Audu’s breathing started to get heavier as he saw the Pu.$$y he had been masturbating to for weeks now. He reached out to touch her again, but this time, he slid his index finger slowly into her cunt.
“Spread your legs,” he commanded. Faith gently did that and Mr Audu began slipping his finger in and out of her until his finger was coated with her wetness.
“You are wet,” he said, “You like this, right?”
Faith did not know what to say. She really did not want to like what he was doing but the man had great fingering skills. He slid his finger in her again and she could
not control herself. She began grinding her Pu.$$y against his finger as he F**.Cked.
He then ordered her to hold on to the desk as his hardness was getting out of control. She did as he said. Her body and her Pu.$$y had betrayed her for all she wanted now was for a d.!ck, any d.!ck, to slide into her wet Pu.$$y.
Mr Audu obliged as he unzipped, brought out his d.!ck and drove hard into his secretary’s Pu.$$y. Faith moaned as his C@.ck drove deep in and out of her. She moved her ass to meet his thrust like she did for her boyfriend.
Mr Audu was much bigger, so much so that when it reached deep inside of her, she was feeling him hit her cervix.
She loved this and craved more. She had never had a d.!ck so big and she was glad for the way his d.!ck gloriously filled her tight cunt.
He groaned and threw his head back as he entered her tight Pu.$$y deeply again and again. Each time he withdrew, he watched as his C@.ck was covered in her wetness.
He thrusted into her harder and harder as he felt her quiver with lust. Finally, with one deep thrust, his throbbing C@.ck gave a jerk and he was soon shooting his cum straight into her cunt.
After withdrawing his d.!ck, he said to her, “You can go now.”

Story: My neighbour’s wife

Mike was my neighbour and Amaka was his wife.

Mike was a workaholic who travelled a lot and my wife had left me three years ago. Since then, Amaka and I had gotten very close.

At first, she was always making me meals and bringing to my apartment. I believed she felt pity for me since my wife left and she assumed I would be missing a chance to enjoy great home-cooked meals.
In addition, Mike was almost never available to enjoy the fruit of Amaka’s labour in the kitchen. Whenever he was home, he would leave very early in the morning and not have breakfast only to return late in the night and not eat dinner.
Amaka’s kitchen skills were going to waste, so she would make food and bring them over. She was a fantastic cook and I looked forward to when she brought over my meals.
We would chat while I eat, then she would take the plates back. I got to know Amaka well during these times.
I found out that she was lonely and missed having a man. Her husband was not very affectionate and they hardly ever made love.
She was often close to tears when she described to me how lonely she was. One night, we were both on my couch after her meal when she said to me,
“I think your wife is an idiot to leave you. You’re a warm, affectionate kind of guy who takes care of his woman. I wish Mike was more like you.”
I took this to mean she was flirting with me. I welcomed it because I had always found Amaka really beautiful.
Her hair was always in a neat braid and her eyes were expressive. She hardly ever wore makeup but she had gorgeous facial features.
She often wore long-sleeved blouse when she came over, but I could tell she was endowed. Her B@.0bs strained against the tight top she wore.
She also often wore shorts when she came over so I had spent many evenings lusting after her beautiful legs.
“I have no clue how a man will have a wife as beautiful as you and yet will not make love to her,” I said after drinking in her beauty again.
She leant close to me and our lips met. My heart started to pound and I started to tremble. I could tell she was feeling it too.
I laid her on her back and just kept kissing her. I reached out gently and rubbed my open palm across her left bre@.$t.
I could feel her tense it under my fingers. I began to gently massage it through her clothing.
I kissed her neck, her ears her eyes, her nose, her cheek and her mouth. I kept massaging her bre@.$ts. On and on. Very slowly building her passion.
I wanted more. I lifted her blouse over her head and revealed her lace-trimmed bra, which covered those exquisite bre@.$ts.
I moved my mouth over her bre@.$ts. Nibbling and sucking at her N!.pplss through the material until the front of the bra was wet.
I could see the faint outline of the dark areola through the wet material. Her N!.pplss were fully erect.
I pushed her bra up and out of the way to reveal those fabulous B@.0bs. We kissed again. Deeply.
As the kiss ended I trailed my mouth across her chest to her left bre@.$t and began sucking on it. She moaned softly.
Ever so softly I sucked the N!.ppls into my mouth and gently put pressure on its base with my teeth and while sucking raked my teeth gently up its length.
“Oh god!” she moaned. I moved to her right bre@.$t and did the same thing, with the same result. “Don’t stop,” she moaned again.
We kissed and fondled and sucked for a few more minutes. Amaka was getting more turned on by the second – and I wasn’t far behind.
I reached down to the front of her short and rubbed her crotch through the material. She clamped her legs around my hand and squeezed.
I rubbed harder. She began to gently buck against my hand. Her crotch began to get damp right through the jeans. God this woman was horny!
I undid her shorts, pulled down the zipper and slipped my hand in. Her panties were soaked. I pushed the crotch of her panties into her slit and rubbed my hand up and down its length.
She crossed her ankles and tightened her upper leg muscles and it was like my hand was in a vice. Trapped in her Pu.$$y.
I could feel her quivering and knew she was having the first of many org@.$ms that night.
quickly removed my own jeans and boxers, revealing my hard and horny C@.ck.
I slid into her nice and slow, savouring the moment and the sensation. It was like pushing your C@.ck into warm honey.
She gasped and arched her back. I began to move inside her slowly, getting control. I didn’t want to cum too soon.
I kept kissing her and she kissed me back with a passion I’d never known. It was like a hunger that could never be sated – for both of us.
I was F**.Cking harder now, harder and faster and harder. The only sounds were those of our heaving gasps for breath, moans, grunts and the steady slap, slap, slap as our bodies pounded into each other.
I was F**.Cking so hard and deep into her I could feel the lips of her uterus slip around the end of my C@.ck. I was F**.Cking her for all I was worth.
I could feel my own org@.$m building now. My balls were contracting, my d.!ck was feeling full.
I tried to hold on and tighten my C@.ck muscles. I only wanted to F**.Ck her harder and for longer but my C@.ck was swelling even more. It felt like it would burst.
The release was intense. She cummed, screaming, and I cummed bellowing like an animal. The org@.$m is intense. I’m shooting bursts of cum into her over and over.
My C@.ck keeps spasming long after I stop coming. We both stay locked in an embrace, resting and catching our breath.
“I love you,” Amaka said. “I wish I had met you before meeting Mike.”
“I feel the same way too,” I replied.
We laid in silence for a couple more minutes until I began to feel my d.!ck hardening again.
“Let’s go continue this in the bedroom,” I suggested.
“Okay.”

VIEWPOINTS - Buhari Worst President Nigeria Ever Had?, by Ikechukwu Amaechi,

I have two confessions to make from the outset
I am an incurable optimist. I am a firm believer in the maxim that no matter how dark a tunnel may appear to be, there will always be some ray of light at the end.
Of course, this presupposes that for you to encounter this light, you must not stand still at the darkest end of the tunnel. Therefore, the philosophy underpinning this belief is that for you to get to the bright end, you must keep moving away from the darkest end.
You must stay the course; perseverance is the watchword. Don’t quit because quitters never win. Here, pragmatism is an inevitable companion.
This conviction also informed my reaction to the socio-political and economic developments in our country in recent times.
I strongly believed that no matter how starkly the national augury may seem to tilt south, we shall overcome as long as we have a leadership that is prepared to put on its thinking cap, prepared to listen, be pragmatic and innovative in handling the myriad of problems confronting the nation.
The last thing we need right now is a leadership that is in denial, a leadership that revels, like the ostrich, in burying its head in the sand, thinking that nobody is seeing it. The last thing we need in this country is a leadership whose only solution to the problems is to point fingers of blame at others. Unfortunately, this is the leadership we have right now.
My second confession is that I am really afraid for this country’s fate under the leadership of President Muhammadu Buhari.
My worry was not informed by the frightening numbers released by the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) on Wednesday, August 31, which finally confirmed what many already knew – that the economy had slid into recession or that Gross Domestic Product (GDP) growth at a woeful –2.06% performance did worse than expected. It was –0.36% in the first quarter.
The fact that $1 exchanged for N425 last week with a potential of going beyond N500 before the end of the year, while inflation rose to 17.1 per cent in July from 16.5 in June is scary, but didn’t worry me much.
Ditto the unemployment figure which increased to 13.3 percent from 12.1 per cent and investment inflows which dropped to the lowest levels at $647.1 million from $710 million.
These figures are the natural consequences of the otiose and impractical monetary and fiscal policies of the Buhari administration. Discerning Nigerians and members of the international community didn’t expect anything different.
But as grim as they are, what worries me most is the puerile antics of some chieftains of the All Progressives Congress (APC), including Buhari, and APC National Chairman, John Oyegun.
It baffles me that those who claim to be our leaders can actually indulge in such laughable political shenanigans.
Last week, APC National Chairman (South), Segun Oni, took the party’s penchant for tomfoolery to an absurd height when he claimed that it was voted into office to do the impossible.
“Yes, we are elected to do the impossible,” Oni was quoted as saying on Tuesday, August 30, insisting that“the economy was traumatised by a government whose only agenda was to win another round (of elections). “Therefore, everything that they could put into trying to win a second round, even bastardising the economy, was done and we are all here.”
The party Oni accused of traumatising the economy, of course, is the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
But who is Segun Oni, the man castigating the PDP? If the PDP is actually a devilish political party as some APC overlords would like us to believe, Oni and his cohorts represent the dark side of the party.
In fact, they were the reason Nigerians despised and rejected the PDP. Oni was not just a chieftain of the PDP, he was “elected” Ekiti State governor on its platform and sworn in on May 29, 2007.
He was one of the people former President Olusegun Obasanjo used, as confirmed by the Court of Appeal three years later, to ruin our democracy. Oni became one of the public faces of the fabled PDP rigging machine. He defrauded the Ekiti people by stealing their mandate. In 2010, the Appeal Court declared him an impostor and sacked him from office. He lost the rerun election ordered by the court to Kayode Fayemi who contested on the platform of the defunct Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN).
In 2012, Oni became PDP national vice chairman (South West). All this while, the Ifaki-Ekiti-born politician never saw anything wrong with the party until he was sacked from the post.
In 2014, Oni dumped the PDP for the newly formed party of “saints”, the APC, and threw his weight behind the re-election of his political nemesis, Fayemi.
Of course, Fayemi, now minister of mines and steel development, lost the governorship election on June 21, 2014 to the PDP candidate, Ayo Fayose.
So, in the 16 years the PDP was in power and “ruined” Nigeria, Oni was not only a member for 15 years, he was a high-ranking officer, who played his own part in ruining Ekiti State in particular and Nigeria in general. It took Fayemi four years to clean up the mess Oni left behind. But his sins have been forgiven or simply covered because he has joined the ranks of the “saints” in the APC after losing out in the PDP. That is sheer hypocrisy.
And that is what you see all over the place. Most of the people making noise today and calling the PDP names were once members of the party who held high offices. They were part of the decision making machinery that formulated the policies that “ruined” Nigeria.
So, how could such characters blatantly insult our sensibilities by unashamedly pointing the fingers of blame elsewhere and diverting attention from themselves?
Anytime I hear any of the former chieftains of the PDP talking about how Nigeria was ruined in 16 years and how they have come to salvage the country, my stomach churns.
These people capitalise on our very short memory to insult us. They think we are fools. In a sense, we are. Because it is only suckers, people inured to self-respect that can take what Nigerians take from their political leaders without a whimper.
In 15 months, Buhari, by sheer lack of capacity, has completely ruined what remained of Nigeriaand its economy, yet some people still hail him as a “messiah”.
And Oni had the effrontery to tell us the APC was voted into office to do the “impossible”.
Didn’t the APC market itself as the party with the capacity to save Nigeria from the ruination caused by the PDP? At what point did the party realise that governing Nigeria was not just a difficult task but an impossibility? And if governing Nigeria has become impossible, why is the APC still in office? Shouldn’t it step down to allow people who believe that turning Nigeria’s fortunes around for good is still a possibility, no matter how daunting the task, to govern?
Perhaps, these APC jokers do not know or may have conveniently forgotten. They are in office because they told Nigerians they will do the job and deliver on their promises. Nigerians will hold them accountable.
Deflecting attention by pointing fingers of blame at the PDP is a no-brainer. Nigerians gave their verdict on the PDP more than a year ago. So, the joke is no longer on the PDP, it is on the APC. And no matter how hard the APC tries to obfuscate issues, one thing is certain. Never will it ever be said that Buhari was the best president Nigeria never had like it is said of late Chief Obafemi Awolowo.
Instead, he is working very hard to achieve the opposite. The way he is going, Buhari is likely to end up the worst president Nigeria ever had unless he changes gear.

SPORTS - Arsene Wenger's feud with Jose Mourinho continues as Arsenal boss refuses to let Mourinho sit next to him at conference

Seems like Arsene Wenger's feud with Jose Mourinho won't end anytime soon as the Arsenal manager refused letting Man U coach Jose Mourinho sit next to him at A UEFA coaching conference overseen by Sir Alex Ferguson during the just concluded FIFA international break.

According to MARCA.com, Jose Mourinho arrived late for the conference  and saw an available seat opposite Paris Saint-Germain manager, Unai Emery and Real Madrid boss Zinedine Zidane which was next to Wenger.

Mourinho then asked Wenger if he could occupy the space, to which Wenger replied without batting an eyelid: 'No, it isn't possible.'

Wenger reportedly 'won' the exchange, with other managers in the room laughing at his response to Jose Mourinho.

Mourinho and Wenger have had a long term feud between each other with Mourinho labeling Wenger a 'specialist in failure'after Wenger criticized his style of play and in October 2014, Wenger shoved Mourinho during a high-tempered contest at Stamford Bridge

NEWS - Armed Fulani Herdsmen Take Over National stadium / Abuja City, Buhari still silent

Suspected Armed Fulani herdsmen, have on Monday evening, invaded the $300 million National Stadium Complex in Abuja, turning it into a grazing reserve for their cattle.
This is in spite of an existing order, prohibiting open grazing in the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, an order the Abuja Environmental Protection Board, AEPB, is empowered to enforce.
The invasion came barely few days after the FCT Minister, Muhammad Musa Bello, had directed the AEPB and the FCT Task Team on Environment, to get rid of herdsmen involved in grazing in the capital city.
The herdsmen, who usually invade the stadium in groups to feed their cattle, sometimes overwhelm the stadium security officials who try to stop them from their activities, especially at the Package B section of the stadium.
“It has been a routine for these herdsmen to herd their cows to this place for grazing, especially in the last one year. They invade the stadium at will, and it seems nobody is ready to stop or caution them,” said a security official attached to the stadium.
Also Speaking, the Stadium Manager, Sati Mbok, said that the management has been making frantic efforts to stop the herdsmen, but they have rather continued to increase in their numbers.
It was learnt that the herdsmen, who are usually armed with some dangerous weapons, have become a source of concern to those who are managing the expansive stadium.
The Public Relations Officer of AEPB, Sam Musa, said added, that the agency has taken several measures to tackle the problem of the herdsmen, but has encountered a lot of impediments in their bid to flush the cows out of the city.
“We’ve really been warning and sensitizing them, and the process is on-going, because you know some of them are new in the city and they keep having the information. We have been working together with their leaders to also sensitize them. You know education is number one; once you educate people and they can understand why they should not do it, our job becomes easier,” Musa said.
However, beyond the challenge posed by these herdsmen, under-utilization and poor maintenance culture has turned the $300 million National Stadium, Abuja, into an abandoned edifice, with many of its key facilities rusting away, and a huge chunk of the expansive sports complex overgrown with weeds.
The multi-million dollar edifice, was built when Nigeria hosted the 8th All Africa Games in 2003, COJA, 13 years ago, but has become a shadow of itself over time.

VIEWPOINTS - Another lie by Osibanjo ,'Nigeria badly mismanaged by past governments'

Vice President Yemi Osinbajo on Tuesday said Nigeria’s worsening economic experience was as a result of sabotage and bad governance.
Mr. Osinbajo, who was receiving the Northern States Pentecostal Bishops Forum in his office in Abuja, said apart from depreciation in Naira value, the country’s economy had no reserves to support it.
“At the height of the oil boom, there were no savings,” he said. “There is no country in the world that can face the kind of stealing that took place in Nigeria without having to deal with the consequences, including the current state of the economy.”
In addition to the massive fall in global oil prices, the VP blamed the situation on vandalism of pipelines, which led to the loss of about one million barrels of oil daily for more than six months.
The destruction of gas pipelines, he said, also resulted in the cut in public power supply.
The country’s economy, which has been battling the negative impact of dwindling oil revenues as a result of declining global oil prices, has officially been confirmed to now be recession, with dire consequences on Nigerians.
But, the Vice President said although the times were hard today, there was “great hope the country will prosper again soon.”
“This country has been badly governed. We are dealing, for instance, with the embezzlement of funds to the tune of $15 billion in one sector alone,” he said
Urging Christian and religious leaders to openly condemn corruption, Mr. Osinbajo said they must stand up against corruption, describing it as the single most important reason of the current state of the country’s economy today.
He said the recent gross domestic product (GDP) figures by the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) revealed growth in agriculture and solid minerals.
In addition, he said the social investment programmes were on course, with about 500,000 jobs scheme expected to take off soon.
Earlier, leader of the delegation, Archbishop John Daniel, who pledged the support of the forum to government’s diversification of the economy, called for access to lower interest rates for businesses.
The forum also asked the federal government to checkmate the activities of violent herdsmen by creating ranches in the states for them and help promote religious harmony.
The Vice President said security agencies have clear instructions to deal with those carrying arms and also deal with anyone causing violence.
He lamented the country’s slow criminal justice system, which was affecting delivering of justice in most cases.
