NEWS - Nigerians are hypocrites, they criticized me for wearing T-shirt but hailed Zuckerberg”- Gov. Fayose

Ayodele Fayose of Ekiti State, has said that Nigerians see something bad in anything he does.

In his regular #FayoseSpeak series, the governor disclosed that he will be going round the local governments to monitor workers to ensure they resumed at their offices.
Speaking on the state of the economy, he said:
“If your salary is N100,000, know fully now that you are collecting N50.000 all because of the economy recession in the country, what you are buying in market is now times three of the initial price.
“Soon there would be free health care across the state because majority couldn’t afford hospital bill due to the current economy recession.
“LG autonomy is a must and there is no going back on it here in Ekiti because the LG must be allowed to function.
“Because of bad state of the country’s economy, a lot of Nigerians can no longer afford medicare. People are now going to spiritualists to seek treatment for their ailments.
“Whatever I do, they will condemn. When I wore T-shirt to the House of Assembly, they said I didn’t dress properly. But when the Facebook founder came to Nigeria, wearing T-shirt and jeans, they hailed him. They said he was humble. Hypocrites, that’s what they are.
“They are worried because what they failed to do, I am doing and they will remain in that state of worries.
“I declare whatever comes to Ekiti from the Federation Account every month and technology has even made it compulsory for leaders to be transparent. If I don’t tell Ekiti people what their monthly income is, they can always get it on the Internet.
“On Ekiti State at 20, I want to thank God specially. When Ekiti was 10, I was the governor, I’m also governor when Ekiti will be 20.
“Ekiti people should come out and x-ray those that have ruled this State and tell the world who impacted most on the state.
“Of all the governors put together, Fayemi got the highest fund. His govt got more money than Adebayo, Oni and my govt put together.
“Most of the landmark projects in Ekiti State were done by me.
“Since 2014 October that I assumed office, we have not had any political killing in Ekiti.”

NEWS - The Avengers blows up NNPC gas and crude oil pipeline- Says it is either freedom for Biafrans or they will shock the world.

The Niger Delta Avengers have claimed responsibility of blowing up yet another NNPC major crude and gas pipeline in Warri Delta State.

In a series of statements released on their twitter account early Friday morning, the Avengers activits claimed they attacked the pipeline which is heavily guided by the Nigerian military at exactly 11:45pm on Thursday night.

The statements also rubbished the reports making the rounds that the group is negotiating with the Nigerian government for pipeline protection contracts, saying that Freedom for Biafrans which encompasses people in the present day South-East and South-South of Nigeria is paramount to them more than any other thing.

"At 11:45pm, @NDAvengers blew up other NNPC gas and crude trunkline close to Warri. Pipeline that was guarded by the military." the Avengers declared.

Also going further, the Avengers rubbished the purported negotiations going on between some people and the Federal Government in their name describing it as "an insult to the sense of Niger Delta."

"What we need is a sovereign State, not pipeline contracts"

"To the IOCs, Indigenous Oil Companies and the Nigerian military. Watch out, something big is about to happen, and it will shock the world" the Avengers activists declared.

In a related development, the Avengers also claimed to have encouraged some of her brave and courageous soldiers through promotions.

"The NDAvengers high command has rewarded some brave and courageous soldiers of the Avengers. Have been promoted to the rank of a Brig. General." the statement concluded.

VIEWPOINT - NIGERIA CAN NOT PROGRESS UNLESS THOSE HOLDING BIAFRANS DOWN RELINQUISH THEIR GRIP – EKWEREMADU

The Deputy Senate President, Chief Ike Ekweremadu on Tuesday lamented that individuals in some parts of the country have over the years created some advantages for themselves to the detriment of other parts of the country, adding that this has made some people to be held down. Speaking while being interviewed in a programme on RayPower FM monitored by DAILY POST in Abuja, Ekweremadu warned that when somebody is held down; neither he nor the person holding him down will be able to make any progress.
He, therefore, called on those who have created advantages for themselves to shelve such and support the creation of an advantage that is all encompassing and would benefit every segment of the country, stressing that that is when the country will be able to make progress.
His words: “Over the years, some parts of the country, individuals have had some advantages which they created for themselves and they are keeping those advantages to the detriment of the country and to the detriment of others.
“What that means is that some people are being kept down but you see, as they say, if you are keeping someone down, you are not going to move.'Oji onye n'ala jikwa onwe ya' That is what is happening to our country.

“Some people are keeping us down and they are remaining there, all of us are remaining there. So, the earlier we realize that we need to stand up so all of us can move, both the man you are holding down and you that is holding him down, everybody can make progress. Unless we do that, we are not going to make progress.
“So, those advantages we think we have, we need to shelve them, let us have an advantage that is all encompassing; that involves every segment of this country; all part of this country. When that advantage is entrenched in the system, I think we would make a better progress.”

VIEWPOINT - Nigerians want change in their pocket- Amaechi

Minister of Transport, Rotimi Amaechi, says Nigerians have become impatient about this present administration's change agenda as they desire to see change in their pockets and not just in structures. Speaking at a forum organised by the News Agency of Nigeria, NAN, in Abuja yesterday May 24th, ‎Amaechi said the present government met a bad structure in governance and is trying to correct it. He says they will need at least $55.9 billion to develop infrastructure in the transportation sector...

“We didn’t anticipate that things were this bad. We thought you go to government and there would be money for you to run government and others. Now you have the situation where there is no money to run government. I hate to use the word difficult; I hate to use the word impossible but we met things close to difficult and impossibility. That is why Nigerians are impatient; they want to see results and for them, change is not about change in structure, it is about change in their pocket. Because their pocket is getting dried and they wanted us to put some more resources in their pocket. What I usually say to people is that we beg you to give us time; we will achieve our objective if you give us time and we will both thank God for that opportunity. We need over 50.9 billion dollars in the next five years to develop infrastructure and 50 billion dollars is not a joke. One of the infrastructure we are trying to develop is the railway infrastructure; the president has kindly agreed that he will fund it because the contract was awarded by Obasanjo, the former president; he awarded the contract for Lagos to Kano. President Jonathan awarded the contract for Lagos to Calabar, what the president has agreed to do is to fund it; he said can we fund the ones we have already awarded; no more awards until we have developed the ones we have awarded. So we are focusing on the Lagos to Kano railway and the Lagos to Calabar rail line. If you look at the communities surrounding this rail line; Lagos to Kano will start from Lagos to Ibadan; it will impact on so many sectors of the economy including housing; people who ordinarily will not be able to pay for house rent in Lagos can live in Ibadan, can live in Ogun and come to work in Lagos.”the liar said

Yesterday in Santiago, Chile, a 20-year-old now identified as Franco Luis Ferrada Roman, stripped naked in a zoo and jumped into a lion’s enclosure and began to yell things about Jesus to the wild animals, to the horror of onlookers which included children.
At first, the animals didn’t attack him, but they later pounced on him and savagely mauled him. To save the man’s life, the zookeepers had to shoot two lions dead.
Speaking with the press later, the director of the zoo, Alejandra Montalva, said:“We believe that this person entered as a visitor and paid for his ticket. Later he trespassed into an area where the public are not normally allowed and we understand that he forced the roof of the lion’s enclosure.

We gathered that Captain William had allegedly sent a text message to one of his sons who lives in Port Harcourt, at about 10pm, to condole with him over his own death and advised him to be strong to take care of his siblings. But the son did not see the message until he got a call the next morning that his father had committed suicide and I feel he had tied the rope ready for the act before he sent the text. He was not poor because he had three cars and had built a house in his village and was generally doing well; that is why we were surprised with his action,"

NEWS - Press statement on the the fictitious charge against Innoson Nigeria Ltd.

Yesterday, several online news platforms carried a story on a supposed authorisation by the Federal High Court in Lagos to the AGF to begin the immediate prosecution of Chairman/CEO of Innoson Group for forgery. Now Innoson Group has through its company spokesperson Cornel Osigwe released a statement to counter the said publication. Read after the cut...

Our attention has been drawn to a news report published by various online media that the Federal High Court sitting in Lagos has authorised the Attorney-General of Federation (AGF) to commence the prosecution of a Lagos businessman, Innocent Chukwuma, his company, Innoson Nigeria Limited, and four others for alleged forgery. Ordinarily, we would not have dignified this news report with a response but in a nation where silence may be seen as an admission of guilt, we therefore come out to state the true position of things. Although there is a charge pending against Innoson Nigeria Ltd, the charge is a trumped up. To this end, the police have through its letter of 17th February 2016 discontinued the charge in order to further investigate the matter. Also, Director of Public Prosecution of the Federation through paragraph 10 of its opinion referenced DPPF 30/03/2016 contained in the policy file of the Ministry of Justice directed that the charge be discontinued and the file sent back to the police to further investigate the matter. The court never ordered or directed the Attorney General of the Federation to take over the case since and more importantly no court in Nigeria has such power over the AGF. Already Innoson has over N15billion judgment in its favour against Guaranty Trust Bank (who is sponsoring the charge) in suit no Fhc/AWK/CS/139/2012, suit no Fhc/L/CS/603/2006 and Appeal no CA/I/258/2011 and Appeal no CA/E/288/2014. The charge is to blackmail Innoson and to force it to forgo the judgments sums of over N15Billion.

NEWS - China Denies “Marinating Dead Bodies” And Selling Them As Meat In Africa.

The Republic of China has been forced to deny claims that it is marinating dead bodies, canning them and selling them as a meat product in Africa, after a bizarre Facebook hoax went viral.
Rumours of the alleged trade in human meat first began circulating on social media thanks to a series of photographs of what appeared to be skinned people in a meat factory.

Zambian press was accused of encouraging the rumours, after publishing articles that quoted alleged sources from inside the Chinese meat factories.
According to the alleged sources, the idea to use human meat came when China ran out of space to dispose of its dead.
Others claimed Beijing preferred to save its ‘good meat‘ for richer, more powerful countries.
But China’s ambassador to Zambia has issued a furious denial of the allegations.

Today a local tabloid newspaper is openly spreading a rumour, claiming that the Chinese use human meat to make corned beef and sell it to Africa,’ said Yang Youming, according to China’s Xinhua news agency.
‘This is completely a malicious slandering and vilification which is absolutely unacceptable to us. We hereby express our utmost anger and the strongest condemnation over such an act.’
He reportedly claimed that the rumours were being circulated by ‘people with ulterior motives were attempting to destroy the long-standing partnership between Zambia and China’.
