Iloenyosi Arrives Abakiliki to Represent Gusau at the Opening Match of the NNL25

Anambra State Football Association Chairman Gen Chikelue Iloenyosi have arrived Abakiliki, Ebonyi State Nigeria as he will be Representing the Nigeria Football Federation President Ibrahim Musa Gusau at the Star Match which is the Opening Match of NNL25.

He received a Warm Welcome from Senator Obinna Ogba upon arrival 

The Newly Formed Abakiliki Fc (The Rice Boys)will play against last season's table toppers Madiba FC Of Lagos (Oshodi Boys) by 3PM at the Pa Ngele Oruta Stadium , Abakiliki 

The Governor of Ebonyi State HE Francis Nwaifuru is expected to be at the Stadium as the match Marks a historic first game of the State owned football club.

The Chairman of the NNL Mr George Aluo and his executive Board members like Uche Boniface (Chairman Abia Comets Fc) are also in town.

It' is going to be a memorable and Exciting Start of the Season.

Gen Chikelue while speaking to Journalist, Praised the Organization of the NNL for the improvements so far and urge them to add more grease to their elbows so as to develop the league with the Pace being expected by the the President.

The NNL is the most important league in the country, so it should be of a higher level and Standard.

He also urged the Referees to Raise the Standard of the league by Performing well without sentiments .

Utaogu. From Daakada FC to Madiba FC

 

Utaogu Odinaka will play NNL25 with The Oshodi boys Madiba FC Of Lagos.

The former Solution FC, Daakada Fc defensive midfielder played his last game for Daakada Fc Uyo in the Game against Edel Fc in Awka last season. 

Daakada Fc have played some games this pre season and Utaogu was no where to be found near the team.

As his fans were still uncertain about his whereabouts, he was spotted having his medicals to join the Oshodi boys.

Utaogu Odinaka will wear the number 4 jersey for Madiba FC this season.

Though he is not part of the 20 man Squad that traveled to Abakiliki for the Opening Match of this season NNL, he will be back in the squad when they face ABS of Ilorin in their second game

Iloenyosi Congratulates Gusau, As He Gets Top WAFU Post.

November 23rd, 2024. 

The Chairman of Anambra State Football Association, Gen Chikelue Iloenyosi has sent words of felicitations to the NFF President, Alhaji Ibrahim Musa Gusau on the success of his election as the 1st Vice President of West African Football Union (WAFU B). 

According to Iloenyosi, this is a deserved position as Gusua has shown his capacity in championing football development at the grassroots in the country. 

"I want to congratulate my Boss, Alhaji Gusau as he is elected as the first Vice President of WAFU B. This is a testament to how his personality and the good work he has been doing in the Nigerian Football Federation has given him recognition in regional Africa. I strongly believe with Gusua there that WAFU B football will grow in leaps and bounds. I wish him luck in this new position." 

The election took place in Niamey, Niger Republic. The WAFU B zone is made up of seven countries, viz Nigeria, Togo, Benin Republic, Ghana, Burkina Faso, Niger Republic and Cote d'Ivoire.

Registration for the Upcoming Anambra Football League deadline shifted to November 30th.

 

Over Ten teams have already registered for the much anticipated Anambra Football League.

Anambra Football League will be played in a league format in which teams will be playing on home turf and also away to the home of their opponents will help engage players, the Academy owners will have a league that will keep the team busy annually 

Anambra State Football Association have shifted the deadline for the registration to November 30th, to enable more interested teams register 

The Winner of the league will Qualify to play in the NLO 2 next season .

AHMED MUSA DOLES OUT 500 THOUSAND NAIRA EACH TO KANO PILLARS AND MIGHTY JETS UNDER-19 TEAMS

 

Nigeria’s national team captain, Ahmed Musa, has donated the sum of five hundred thousand naira each to the players of Kano Pillars FC Under-19 team and their Mighty Jets of Jos counterparts as a reward for their performance.

The Super Eagles skipper made the donation shortly after Kano Pillars Under-19’s 3-2 victory over Mighty Jets in the ongoing inaugural Under-19 Youth League. The thrilling encounter was held on Tuesday at the Sani Abacha Stadium, Kofar Mata, Kano.

Ahmed Musa, Nigeria’s all-time top scorer in the history of the FIFA World Cup, graced the event in person. He was at the stadium alongside his teammates from Kano Pillars FC, waiting for the conclusion of the Youth League match before commencing their own training session. This was part of their preparation for the Nigeria Premier Football League Match Day 13 fixture against Lobi Stars of Makurdi.

Musa's influence both on and off the pitch continues to shine. Since rejoining the Sai Masu Gida, the experienced forward has been directly involved in 95% of the goals scored by the the team. Over the weekend, he netted his fifth goal of the season against Heartland FC with a commanding header that left the opposing goalkeeper with no chance. In addition to his goals, Musa has provided three assists and earned three penalties for his side through his brilliant attacking play.

His commitment to supporting grassroots football development is evident in this generous gesture, which will undoubtedly motivate the young players of both teams.

It will be massive this Christmas as the good people of Achalla in Awka North local Government of Anambra State is having their Mass return.

Former Nigeria defender Chikelue Iloenyosi urged Nigeria fans to give Boniface time, believing that he will start scoring for the country.

🗣️“Boniface is a fantastic player. We need to give him time. He’s doing well in his club, and once he starts scoring for the country, he has the potential to become a top goalscorer,” Iloenyosi said.

“Bundesliga is all about fitness; if you’re not fit, you can’t play. Boniface is a fantastic player, very obedient, and a nice boy. I’m supporting him in everything,” Iloenyosi added.

The Finals will take place on Sunday,17th November, 2024 at The Awka City Stadium

Nnewi town(Nnewi North LGA)will take on Umuoji ( Idemili North LGA)in the Finals coming up by 3pm while  FEGGE (Onitsha South) will take on OSUMENYI (Nnewi South LGA)in the third place match by 12 noon

Players and officials are expected to arrive the stadium one hour before the matches for inspection and other formalities.

The Special Host of the Competition Governor Chukwuma Soludo will be handing over the trophy to the eventual winners 🏆

Abia Comets Start the Abia Governor's Cup on a Winning Note.

Abia Comets Football Club of Umuahia made a strong start in the Abia State Governor-sponsored Nigerian National League pre-season tournament, defeating Edel FC of Awka 2-0 in their opening match held in Aba.

This tournament, organized in collaboration with the National League Club Owners and Managers Association (NALCOMA), features six teams from the South-East and South-South regions of Nigeria. In the second match of the day, Kun Khalifat FC and Solution FC played to a goalless draw.

The first half ended without any goals, but Abia Comets broke the deadlock in the 73rd minute thanks to an own goal from Ejike Uzoechi Edel Fc captain . 

Felix Henry followed up with a second goal just four minutes later to secure the victory.

Chief Boniface Uche, chairman of Abia Comets FC and a board member of the NNL, credited Governor Alex Otti for making the tournament possible, emphasizing its importance in providing teams a competitive platform to prepare for the upcoming season.

After the matches, Abia Comets’ coach, Mr. Okechukwu Ejeh, praised his players for their fighting spirit, describing their performance as a preview of what fans can expect in the upcoming season. He also expressed gratitude to the Governor for supporting the tournament.

Another game was played later on as Solution FC played out a Barren Draw with Kun Khalifat football club Owerri 

Edel Fc will continue tomorrow against Ahudiya nnem an Abiriba based NLO Team 

The six participating teams are divided into two groups and will each play three matches, with the top teams from each group advancing to the finals on Thursday
